NYSIF Warns of Spoofing Scam

The New York State Insurance Fund is aware of a recent series of Caller ID spoofing incidents using a non-working telephone number once belonging to NYSIF.
The spoof begins with an automated message offering lower interest rates on credit cards as part of a scam seeking credit card information. The scam becomes apparent when recipients opt to speak to a live “representative” during the call.
NYSIF is working with state and federal authorities to address the situation. We apologize for this inconvenience.
Consumers and businesses should never reveal credit card information to any unsolicited source.
