New York State Insurance Fund Executive Director James J. Wrynn today announced the Fund has launched a new disability benefits automated quote system on NYSIF’s home page.
“This new application provides NYSIF customers an immediate annual premium quote at their convenience,” Executive Director Wrynn said. “The automated quote system is a timesaver for the user, as they no longer need to wait for a quote response from a NYSIF disability benefits representative.”
At nysif.com, users can simply click on “New Customers: Get A Quote for Disability Benefits,” and the automated system will guide the user to receive an immediate quote. The system provides the user with an actual estimate and instructions for applying for NYSIF disability benefits insurance at the time of inquiry.
On average, the NYSIF disability benefits unit receives approximately 30 – 40 daily quote requests from the web site. Previously, disability benefits underwriters were required to manually respond to each web quote inquiry. The new system allows these underwriters to process applications with greater efficiency and attend to additional responsibilities.
NYSIF is a competitive insurance carrier that sells workers' compensation and disability benefits insurance to any employer doing business in New York State. Approximately 185,000 employers hold NYSIF workers' compensation insurance policies (approximately 37 percent of the market), while 61,000 have active disability benefits policies.
