New York State Insurance Fund Executive Director/CEO David P. Wehner announced new online availability of all NYSIF informational and educational brochures and booklets.
“As New York’s market leader since 1914, NYSIF has been the specialist in workers’ compensation insurance for the past 93 years,” CEO Wehner said. “We are proud to make our complete line of informational and educational publications available now online to anyone.
“Developed by NYSIF experts, these publications bring together the accumulated years of experience that has made NYSIF a recognized authoritative source within the workers’ compensation and disability benefits industries. NYSIF publications have long helped our claimants and employers who do business with us navigate the workers’ compensation system.
“We’re confident they’ll be a source of useful information for helping any injured worker through the claims process, while assisting any business in New York with ways to help lower workers’ compensation costs.”
NYSIF online publications, which are in Adobe PDF format for downloading, feature the multi-page booklets, “A Claims Guide for The Employer” and “Partners In Safety,” both available in English and Spanish.
The Claims Guide is a manual to familiarize employers with their requirements under the Workers’ Compensation and Disability Benefits laws. It also serves as a convenient guide to understanding the claims process for both employers and injured workers.
Partners In Safety is a thorough handbook that offers employers practical advice for establishing and maintaining a successful workplace safety program, and specific knowledge to apply in a variety of safety topics.
NYSIF online publications also include titles that cover the following: Claims Case Management and return to work, The Construction Classification Premium Adjustment Program, and Low Cost Disability Benefits, as well as preparing for a premium audit, and fighting fraud.

NYSIF is a non-profit agency of the State of New York that was created as part of the Workers' Compensation Law of 1914. By law, NYSIF is a competitive insurance carrier that sells workers' compensation and disability benefits insurance to any employer doing business in New York State. Approximately 195,000 employers hold NYSIF workers' compensation insurance policies, about 37% of the market, and another 57,000 have disability benefits policies with NYSIF.
