Message from the Chairman

Since 1914, The New York State Insurance Fund has delivered uninterrupted workers’ compensation insurance coverage to hundreds of thousands of New York businesses.

Created as part of the original New York State Workers’ Compensation Law, the Fund has upheld its mandate by providing a guaranteed source of workers’ compensation insurance for any employer in the New York market over the past 92 years.

NYSIF remains dedicated to providing businesses, injured workers and their families protection under the workers’ compensation system against hardships and financial loss caused by on-the-job injuries, and disability benefits insurance for off-the-job injuries.

The Fund is recognized as a leading carrier of workers’ compensation and disability benefits insurance. Mandated by law, and guided by principle, it competently demonstrates a dutiful commitment to the service of the people of New York State by adhering to central values of customer service, workplace safety, fiscal integrity, and administering appropriate medical care and timely payment of benefits to injured workers.

We complete our mission by being diligent in fighting insurance fraud, by embracing technology and by ensuring transparency in corporate governance.

Chairman Robert H. Hurlbut
