Global Case Management (GCM) uses a team of NYSIF claims specialists under a single case manager who oversees care for the injured worker—from first report of injury until the claim is resolved—ensuring appropriate, quality medical treatment and cost-effective outcomes.
GCM helps contain the cost of workers’ compensation claims. Through proactive claims management, injured workers receive the care they need and return to work as soon as medically ready. NYSIF Claims teams work with our Policyholder Services teams to find medically-approved modified job assignments to facilitate a return to work.

GCM also institutes better overall risk management. NYSIF Claims and Policyholder Services teams review accident and injury details to reveal patterns that help our loss prevention specialists work with employers to develop site-specific safety programs to prevent future accidents.
