This includes our office located at 199 Church Street. We do not expect that the heating system will be fully functional tomorrow so please dress warmly. If you are unable to report to work tomorrow, please let your supervisor know. You must charge appropriate accruals. NYSIF urges you to use your best judgment about travel to work. UPDATED 2:00 p.m.Policyholders:UPDATED WITH NEW DATES AND NEW COUNTY: ORANGE Governor Cuomo has declared a major disaster due to Hurricane Sandy in ten New York counties: Bronx, Kings, Nassau, New York, Orange, Richmond, Rockland, Suffolk, Queens and Westchester. For any policyholders directly affected by this disaster with a premium payment due date of October 26 – November 25, your payment deadline will be extended to November 26. There will be no penalties or cancellations during this time for affected policyholders. UPDATED 7:45 a.m.NYSIF Employees: Please note NYSIF’s Melville and Hempstead offices will be open today, Monday, November 5, 2012. However, NYSIF urges you to use your best judgment about travel to work, including gasoline availability and road conditions. Please do not take any unnecessary risks. If carpooling is appropriate for you, please do so. As a result of Hurricane Sandy, as well as infrastructure issues at NYSIF’s office at 199 Church St., the NYSIF New York City office will be closed today, Monday, November 5. Non-essential state employees are directed not to report to work, without charge to leave accruals. However, if you have been designated as essential personnel, please be prepared to report to the White Plains office or the Melville office on Monday, November 5, 2012, unless in your best judgment travel would be unwise. Your safety and health is of utmost concern to NYSIF. All field services and premium audit staff are directed to make all appointments, pending travel conditions. Please use your best judgment. If you are unable to make an appointment, please contact your policyholder to cancel. The Workers’ Compensation Board offices are open today, and will hold hearings. All claims hearing reps who have hearings scheduled should report to the assigned Board hearing office. If you are unable to work, please notify Steve Kikoler.
