NYSIF Announces New Web Design to Accommodate Mobile Devices

September 21, 2012

The New York State Insurance Fund launches a website redesign today that improves customer service by enhancing the navigability of its home page and making www.nysif.com adaptable to any mobile device.

Whether using a smart phone, tablet, laptop or desktop computer, users will have the same viewing experience when visiting nysif.com thanks to Responsive Web Design (RWD).

NYSIF completed the entire project in-house using a team of NYSIF programmers for design and development. The goal was to develop a site that will respond to the user’s behavior and environment based on screen size, platform and orientation.

The result is a rebuilt site consisting of a mix of flexible grids and layouts, images and Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) that enables nysif.com to give users the same look and performance whether using an iPhone or Android, an iPad or Kindle Fire, or any other computing device.

The new home page features a screen-wide, rotating carousel with images and text relating to NYSIF products and services. NYSIF’s more prominent online services are now all located in a single row at the top of the page. Easy-to-navigate mega drop-down menus, arranged in collaboration with respective department heads for each function, now more closely correspond to their content sections.
