NYS Industries for the Disabled Names NYSIF ‘Customer of the Year’

NYSIF has received the State Government Customer of the Year Award from the New York State Industries for the Disabled, Inc. (NYSID) for employing people with disabilities.

NYSID Director of Marketing and Communications Jennifer Lawrence congratulated NYSIF Executive Director & CEO Eric Madoff and Deputy Executive Director & Chief Operating Office Shirley Stark on receiving the 2020 award “on behalf of the New York State Industries for the Disabled’s Board of Directors, our 160 rehabilitation member agencies and corporate partners, and the thousands of people with disabilities employed on preferred source contracts.”

NYSID employees work off-site for NYSIF in document imaging and document management at SecureScan, a NYSID corporate partner, and had worked on-site at our Watervliet Avenue office before the pandemic.

Dedicated Workers

In addition to processing thousands of medical bills and policy documents for us daily, NYSID workers provide NYSIF with document destruction, janitorial, mail fulfillment, and other services. As a result of our partnership with NYSID, NYSIF has been able to employ more than 40 New Yorkers with disabilities.

SecureScan CEO and President Chuck Tobin thanked NYSIF for its commitment to providing opportunities to individuals with disabilities during the pandemic.

“We are so grateful to NYSIF for all the opportunities even during the COVID pandemic,” he said. “We were able to stay open the entire time, provide services, and everyone continued to get a paycheck.”
