Policyholders Receive $3M in PPE Credits

NYSIF returned over $3 million in premium credits to more than 9,500 policyholders who responded to our Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Credit Program in 2020.

The program, which offered a premium credit for the purchase of PPE to help our workers’ comp policyholders offset costs associated with keeping their workplaces safe from the spread of COVID-19, ran from August 20 to December 31, 2020. NYSIF applied a credit worth up to 5% of annual premium, capped at $500, for the purchase of masks, gloves, goggles, gowns, hand sanitizer and other COVID-related safety equipment.

The program was just one form of relief among many that we offered customers facing unprecedented challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Going Beyond

We exceeded industry standards to help customers during the disruption caused by the pandemic and continue to work with policyholders facing financial difficulty to keep their policies active. We are also waiving interest on audit balances through August 2021.
