Payroll Reporting Now Easier for DB/PFL
NYSIF is pleased to announce that, based on customer feedback, we have updated our disability benefits (DB) payroll report to make it easier for you to understand and complete.
The updated report applies to policy periods ending after January 1, 2020.
Simpler Format
When you view the updated report, you will see notable improvements that include a simpler format, separate sections for DB and paid family leave (PFL) reporting, and clearer instructions on how to complete the report. Prior versions of the payroll report combined both DB and PFL reporting in a single table.
Other Changes
Among other changes:
• There are new fields to enter capped and gross wages for both DB and PFL.
• PFL is now reported based on an annual cap rather than a weekly cap.
• Online reporting for policy periods ending after January 1, 2020 can now be completed using a web-based, fillable form.
Online Submission
After submitting your report online, you will now receive an email confirmation that includes a copy of the completed report.
Login to your NYSIF disability benefits account at the end of each policy period to complete your report. This will help ensure that your policy is accurately priced. If we do not receive your payroll report, we may need to estimate your payroll, which can result in a higher premium.
