OSHA Summary of Citations for COVID-19 Violations
The US Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) announced that it has cited 85 establishments for COVID-19-related violations since the start of the coronavirus pandemic, resulting in proposed penalties of more than $2 million, as of October 30, 2020.
OSHA said inspections have resulted in employers receiving coronavirus-related citations for violations including failures to:
- Implement a written respiratory protection program
- Provide a medical evaluation, respirator fit test, training on the proper use of a respirator, and personal protective equipment
- Report an injury, illness or fatality
- Record an injury or illness on OSHA recordkeeping forms
- Comply with the General Duty Clause of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970
