Comp Board Proposes to Extend PFL COVID-19 Rule

The New York State Workers' Compensation Board announced a proposed rule change re-adopting the April 15, 2020 emergency amendment to the administrative rules which added COVID-19 as a reason eligible employees could take leave under the state’s paid family leave program to care for a family member with COVID-19. The proposal would extend the emergency rule until at least July 27.

A Notice of Emergency Adoption and Proposed Rulemaking has been published in the July 15, 2020, edition of the State Register, and comments will be accepted through mid-September, via email to regulations@wcb.ny.gov.
