Disability benefits policyholders may qualify for premium credits based on the following:
- Policyholder must have 49 or fewer employees, or disability premium over $1,000;
- Policyholder must remain in active status with NYSIF throughout the policy year;
- Payroll report(s) must be submitted 30 days from the end of the policy period.
Return of Premium Program
For disability benefits policyholders who meet the above qualifications and have 49 or fewer employees. If the total group loss ratio for these policyholders is less than the industry standard as established by the New York State Department of Financial Services after all claims for the policy year have closed, each policyholder receives a Return of Premium credit.
Premium Adjustment Plan
For disability benefits policyholders who meet the above qualifications and have disability benefits premium over $1,000. If the policyholder’s total annual claims when multiplied by a factor of 1.2 are less than the total premium for that period after all claims for the policy year have closed, the qualifying policyholder receives a Premium Adjustment Plan credit.
