
Dr. Muoi A. Trinh is an Associate Professor in the Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Pain Medicine at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. As the Medical Director of Environmental Sustainability for the Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS), Dr. Trinh has led system-wide initiatives that position Sinai as a leader in healthcare decarbonization. A recognized authority on sustainability in perioperative medicine, Dr. Trinh has advanced the integration of environmental stewardship into clinical care and operational decision-making. She has spearheaded efforts to comprehensively track and address greenhouse gas emissions across all three reporting scopes—developing actionable strategies to reduce emissions from anesthetic gases, energy consumption, and the supply chain. Her leadership has resulted in high-impact achievements that have yielded significant reductions in emissions.
Dr. Trinh serves on the MSHS Executive Committee on Sustainability, where she drives alignment with key public commitments such as the New York City Carbon Challenge and the New York State Insurance Fund Climate Action Pledge. Through strategic vision, interdisciplinary collaboration, and evidence-based advocacy, Dr. Trinh is shaping a healthcare delivery model that prioritizes planetary health alongside patient care.
