Damaris Torres, Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer: With nearly 30 years at NYSIF, Damaris has been serving as Chief Diversity Officer since 2020. Previously, Damaris held roles on both NYSIF's Internal Audit and Internal Control teams, and then joined the Legal Department as a forensic audit specialist, where she spent more than 10 years. During Damaris's time in the Human Resources department, she was a critical part of the agency's return-to-the-office team following COVID, and has overseen NYSIF's compliance with the state's Minority and Women-Owned Business Enterprise and Service-Disabled Veterans-Owned Business programs.
Damaris also serves as the agency designee for Reasonable Accommodations (both internal and external), and as the agency liaison for the Office for the Prevention of Domestic Violence. Damaris has a BS in Accounting from Hunter College, CUNY, and also holds a Certified Internal Auditor certificate.
