NYSIF is DOB-approved course provider and employs OSHA-authorized outreach trainers. NYSIF's safety training offerings are a benefit of your NYSIF policy provided at no additional cost to you. NYSIF OSHA and Site Safety Training (SST) classes are available to NYSIF policyholders and their direct employees. All OSHA and SST sessions are presented in English. Employees registered for classes must speak English proficiently.
Site Safety Training (SST)
The New York City Site Safety Training (SST) card is a certification card required by the New York City Department of Buildings (DOB) under Local Law 196. New York City regulations allow construction workers to obtain a Temporary SST card from an approved provider after taking 10 hours of safety training. These temporary cards allow individuals to work on SST work sites for six months, during which time workers must take the additional 30 hours of training courses to obtain a full SST card. A completed card is good for five years.

OSHA 10- and 30-Hou Training
NYSIF also offers OSHA 10-hour and 30-hour courses for Construction and General Industry. The 10-hour courses cover general safety and health hazards and are intended for entry level employees. The 30-hour courses are intended for supervisors or workers with designated safety and health responsibilities and provide more in-depth safety and health information on a wider variety of subjects.
