NYSIF Language Access Policy

New York State's Language Access Policy as set forth in Executive Order 26, issued October 6, 2011, directs state agencies to provide language assistance services (translation and interpretation) for public services and programs to people of Limited English Proficiency (LEP). Translation is written and interpretation is spoken.

In compliance with this order, NYSIF provides multi-lingual interpretation services to LEP individuals and translation services in the six most common non-English languages spoken in New York State (based on the most recent United States census data), and other languages relevant to NYSIF services. Please call NYSIF at 1-888-875-5790 to access free language interpretation services.

If you feel that we have not provided you with adequate interpretation services or have denied you an available translated document, you may submit a complaint form. Complaint forms for each of the eight languages can be found on their respective pages.

You have a right to free interpretation from NYSIF, but you may choose to waive that right with the understanding that you can change your mind at any time. If you choose to waive your right to free interpretation, we ask you to complete this waiver. Thank you.
